The Cowstail home screen: make an invoice, log today's hours, scan a ticket
Invoices and CIS

The invoice sent before you leave site

Pick the client, the work from your services, the days on a calendar. The description writes itself: days at rate, site, hours. VAT if you are registered, CIS on labour only at 20% or 30%, and the total deducted this year on your Money tab.

Send a PDF or a link and see the moment it is opened. If the client is a company on Cowstail, the invoice lands on their Finances page and you see it approved and paid. A booking through a job drafts the whole invoice for you, with the company's terms and PO.

The Cowstail job board with two open jobs and the fit line
Jobs and alerts

A board that tells you whether you fit

Jobs from companies and from techs who share what they saw in a group, on one board, each as a fixed card: place, when, rate and CIS or PAYE, level and tickets. A fact the post did not state says so instead of vanishing.

One line says whether you fit: your level in date, your distance, how many are interested. Filters for level, region or near me, minimum rate, start and kind of work. Apply with your wallet, or contact the poster. With the app, a push the moment a job fits you.

Ticket wallet

Your IRATA card, read from the camera

Point the camera at your IRATA card and the level, number and expiry fill themselves in. CSCS, first aid, GWO, confined space and any other ticket live in the same wallet with reminders before they lapse.

Share your passes with a client or supervisor by link, with a QR on site. When you apply for a job, the company sees a snapshot of this wallet, not a CV.

Logging a day of hours in the Cowstail logbook
Logbook and career

Hours that count toward your next level

Log the day, the hours, the kind of work and the supervisor as you go, or log them straight from a booking. Hours toward L2 or L3 and your revalidation date are counted for you, month by month.

Your skills beyond tickets, NDT, blade repair, rescue, offshore wind, from a shared library, so a company sees the full story.

Money and tax

Self Assessment half done by April

Income, what is waiting, expenses and your estimated profit, by UK tax year. Snap a receipt and it becomes an expense. CIS deducted this year sits on its own card, the money the taxman already holds.

Insights by kind of work: what you sold most, what it paid per day, and how this year compares with last. CSV export when your accountant asks.

Ask Cowstail

Ask it in your own words

Type or speak a question in any language: how much did I invoice Skyhook this year, which tickets expire before March, draft an invoice for three days at Northgate. Ask answers from your own data and opens a draft in the normal form for you to check.

Nothing is saved without you confirming it, and you can always do the same thing by hand.

“What did I earn in September, after CIS?”
£2,496 invoiced, £404 CIS deducted, £589 in expenses. Two invoices still waiting: Northgate £368, Skyhook £880.
“Log yesterday, 8 hours, facade cleaning in Leeds”
Draft ready: 8 h · Facade cleaning · Leeds · L2. Open to confirm
